my friend, dont expect PC being just even a 1/1000 of Cancun ...
There is nothing but AI and Punta Cana Village, which is just a residential area (with some restaurants and shops), but situated in the middle of no where, you need to take a car to reach the beach, or reach anything which is not just road or isolated places ...
As said many times in this forum, PC nor Bavaro can be considered towns, I live here and still trying to name this two places in a correct way to explain what they are ....
A bit far away, but maybe you would have more options (and dominican ones) if having a ride to Bavaro, and spend some time in el Cortecito and Friusa (mostly in Avenida Espa?a area) to find the real dominican life night with affordable prices and a bit of everything.
Cheers.

Maybe the OP (though banned) was asking about a downtown in the COUNTRY OF PUNTA CANA, which includes "provinces" aka "administrative subdivisions" such as Veron, Bavaro, Cap Cana, Friusa, Arena Gorda and Uvero Alto.

***According to the viceministry of tourism, most tourists arriving via PUJ do not know the actual country they arrived in, they think they are in the country of Punta Cana!
