Isn't there another Supermercado being built at the intersection with Av. Argentina? Isn't this overkill?? And what about the Jumbo in the Las Colinas Mall?

OMG!!!!!! What a FUBAR situation!! The property that belonged to the Widow Bermudez is now going to become a supermarket!!

What a mess that intersection will become. Move over Chrir and PIB, we might have to abandon Santiago with the traffic equal to or worse than Santo Domingo.

On one corner Jumbo and on the next Bravo on the next one??? Infreaking impossible to move along Estrella Sadhala!!!Or widen it to 8 lanes!! My God, where are the urban planners???? Right here, in the university, but will anyone listen to us? No...

So, some of the nicest residences in Santiago will be bordered by a Jumbo and a Bravo!! how sweet that air must be...

Oh man...sorry for the city...the two Leon Asencio properties, don Eduardo's and don Fernando's are now going to become exclusive residential projects...nothing stays the same...

Never mind urban planners, how about traffic engineers??

Another joke here.

Like they put a left turn signal in, with a red light for the on-coming traffic (No turn as the turn street is a one way).

They did not allow the traffic with the left turn signal to go straight until the left turn signal was off, thus one car not turning left and the left turn signal was useless.

Dumb, really, really dumb.

To correct the problem:
They removed the left turn signal and replaced it with a "No Left Turn" sign.

I heard on the news that they're trying to open up a turn-channel on the 27 de febrero so that Nacional Clients can turn LEFT onto the 27 instead of going around the back and exiting from the Central. I will be avoiding the overpass from here on out. TAPONES out the a$$

In your mind? Yes! In the reality of Santiago's biz pulse? Hardly!

If you consider driving from that point to Las Colinas to shop at Jumbo OK, then what can we say!

There will be some work coming to Santiago roads.

The Estrella S. will be made into an express cutting across the city within minutes. There'll be a tunnel built on the Duarte intersection, 27 Feb, and so on. Only vehicles coming to a street light will be those turning from either major road and interconnection.

Also, this is the very route that will see a trunk for the soon to be Santiago Metro. Thus creating the channel for people to move to work and home without the need for a car in the city limits. Think of a Line that extends all the way from the heart of Santiago to Licey (to give you an idea of what's coming just in that trunk).

The "Historic Downtown" will be made fully pedestrian, with a commercial fare timetable for deliveries/etc... In the night hours after the normal biz hours end. Only some major roads will see a light rail at surface in that area of the city to move workers with links to the Santiago Metro and the Santiago/SD High speed train service.

Santiago will grown vertically from now on and the answer large biz only can have is to invest now while land is still cheap and available, to set themselves a nice piece of that growing market.

Small independent stores are migrating from their single locations to the Malls as more come into the market, making then a supply offer over demand, which drives down the costs and offers them long term incentives to engage the move.
