The sattelite system most commonly found is the Dish Network it is found in several small hotels I've stayed at the problem is with the program purchasing the people in the Domonican Repubblic who sell the access to ot are very unreliable I'm told and Dish will not guarantee that programing sold in the states will work there.

Where do you plan to live or stay??

Cable company's are appearing all over the place. Boca Chica now has 42 channels with 85 by the end of this year. It's cheap US$15/month. Might be a better alternative.

where can i purchase a sattelite dish in the dominican republic,what is the monthly cost?has anyone tried using the DSS system sold in the states in DR?does it work?thanks

we had brought down a RCA 60 cm dish and reciever on the advise of the retailer that it would work?? it is to small you need a larger dish to recaeve the signal, also dont forget that you will need a generator as you know the power WILL go out.
