Hi everyone,

I recently moved to El Cortecito and would like to join a tennis club and or gym here in Bavaro/El Cortecito. If anyone has any experience with this please can you help.

I was told that there are a couple of resorts that offer fitness memberships. That would be ideal.

There is also a small gym next door in Los Corales. Has anyone tried it?

Thanks for your assistance

George

El Gym in los Corales is very small but it can suffice depending on what you need. I go to World Gym in Plaza el Tronco which is much larger and has all the basics for me. The largest gym in the area is Atletico Punta Cana just past Iberia Supermarket.

I know you can get a membership to use the IFA Villas Bavaro Gym but I am unfamiliar with this option at other resorts.

Thanks, I joined El Gym this morning and love it. Small, but has everything you need and is airconditioned. Highly recommended for anyoe in Cortecito. Quick question, on the beach are we condo people allowed to use the lounge chairs anywhere?

you can use the chairs at el Pulpo Cojo (sometimes with a purchase), or some of the other beach bars/restaurants as a patron. Can't use the chairs at the resorts... the guests have wrist bands and you don't, so the security guys will spot you.

The message seems outdated but nevertheless, there are 3 public Tennis courts in a public Tennis club on the opposite side of Carabela Hotel in El Cortecito next to the Casino. Prices are made for locals and compared to the US or Europe very competitive. The courts are in good shape - better than in the majority of the Ressorts. They are open from 8:00am - 10pm.

Actually they anounced a public Tennis Tournament that takes place in the first two weeks in January 2014.

Are those hard courts or clay?
