Anybody out there been to the junta central in Santo Domingo in the last 2 or three days ?.

I am going in the morning and had them on the phone and they say no problem, everything is functioning,

Yes, well... We have all heard that before, just don't want to waste a lot of time and the trip if the office is not producing the cards. Question is, will I get my card seeing as the presidential changes are happening in the next several days, will I walk out with a renewed cedula ?.

Thanks for any input,
CG

Don't forget to TAKE YOUR PASSPORT, it is REQUIRED.

I have never had a problem with getting the card there.

They only renew it now for the same term that your residency was for.
(For Example 2 years, no longer 6 years as before)

Change in President should make no difference.

Besides your passport, they will want to see your residency card.

Thank you, it was only that on a previous renewal (when Leonel took over the first time) that the offices were open but nuthin was happening and no cards were being issued.

Just wanted to check before driving across the country.
On another note the folks on the phone earlier at the Junta were as nice as could be and told me to be sure to bring a passport and residence card.

Thanks again !
