My lawyer just called me to let me know that for a person w/ 5 yrs + living in DR a 'papel de buena conducta' from the country of origin and apostilled by the Dominican Embassy is not required anymore to apply for the residential visa.
Lucky me, I've thought: approx. 150 dollars cheaper as I was calculating!
End of story? Not quite...
