You guys are funny. Funny, but correct. With all the "ladrones" and corrupt officials on this island, this counter terrorism crap makes me laugh out loud! Hopefully, the helicopters will have enough fuel and the weapons will not have already been stolen when they do need it. Other than that, great pictures as always!!

It sure is an UH1H, but from the 60s. That chopper must have at least 50 years of service. I want to think this is a prank. Starting with the obvious fact that a counter-terrorism unit is not formed by armed forces, but by intelligence teams.
The only reason I thought it was an "H" variant was that after meeting an air Force SAR crew chief at an Air show and having him drill into my head that the "H" was an Air Force only variant from 70's with tail rotor mounted on starboard side
Mmmm...I'm almost positive the H variant was an Army chopper, not airforce. But then again, I'm no helicopter expert. The fact remains it is a very old chopper that probably stopped receiving proper maintenance when sold or donated to DR armed forces some 20 years ago...

ok, so perhaps not up to first world military standards... however, i doubt any group (drugs, organized crime, whatever) currently on the island would hold out for long if these guys were deployed against them. any disagreement?

These guys are trained by the US. I know the USMC has advisors here for the snipers. This is anti drug/foreign aid money at work. Im sure the US is maintaining the Huey also
