We arrive this Sunday and the weather reports I keep seeing are saying for rain every day. :( It says 30% chance...does that just mean a random shower?

We've come down there before - in January or February and only had rain at night. Not sure what we will do if there's a lot of rain preventing us from enjoying the beaches.

Rain here is mostly at nite and when in the day a quickie of 20 minutes or so. Just time to put the top up on the convertible and it stops.

What a stupid statement. Why are you writing this bull**** ? Maybe true for september and early parts of october. But from november until may, there is often long periods of rain and overcast, could be up to a week in a row.
Now it's still october, and it seems like we already has got the first period of 4 to 5 days with lousy weather.

Have you check the weather map - there is a tropical storm that affecting the D.R.
That may be the reason for the bad weather the last few days.

It is a hurricane now, Sandy, and it is over Jamaica...by Sunday its eye is expected to be in front of N Carolina...but these systems are so big that it may still have some effect on the DR.

Frogs are happy.

Right now it's raining dogs and cats in SD..:(

From what I see (looking out of the window and at GOES EAST PUERTO RICO WV ) it is probably raining in the whole country. Fully overcast and more rain to come until hurricane "Sandy" (now a cat. 1) moves through way north.

Not a good day for my solar panels. :disappoin

Lubrication Needed

But your solar panels are getting washed, isn't that good for them?

Indeed it is good.
The sky is still grey, but is a lighter grey now and the panels are generating a bit of power.
It is just enough to keep the batteries fully charged (indicating 25.5 V at the moment).
I may just run the generator for 15 minutes in the evening.
Mainly for lubricating the engine...

We'll see.

It's expected to cause more than 1 billion$ in damage in the NE. Remember the snow last October?

I especially laughed at this since I saw many purchasing perishable items and their roof over their heads are apartment buildings.

If the electricity went out, these items will spoil.

Oh, the mind set of the ghetto dweller and the media. Priceless!!!!!!!

They should be buying canned food...preferably the kind that they can eat comfortably without (necessarily) heating it, in case no heat source is available...

A bit overkill. Enough canned ravioli to sustain the energy required for a 4 day sex marathon is usually enough to weather anything that hits DR, anything more then we need to be considering a small supply of viagra and possibly some cigaretes.
