"Bem vindo" welcome to DR1, about Boca Chicago:laugh: I do not know anything, but about Boca Chica (I believe that was what you meant), you have a lot a places to have a night fun, a great palces to eat and drink "una Fria", and beware of the "Chicas"they can rip you off all the money;),the names of the places I do not remember, but I'm sure that someone in the forum will know the names, have a great time in Boca Chica with your friends, I have had:cool:.

My first recommendation would be to get on a bus and spend your trip on the North Coast - 27 waterfalls, Santiago, Caberete and Sosua. However, if it is Juan Dolio, you could have a night or two in Santo Domingo, a night in Boca, and be sure to spend a night in San Pedro near the malecon (closest city to Juan Dolio). Would recommend you rent a car/suv to maximize your time and save money/hassle.

Have fun!

You will not find any lounges in boca. Bars with chicas, sure, lounges? Not so much. Santo Domingo has plenty of clubs and lounges otoh.

Boca Chica is the armpit of The Caribbean, best to drive past it on the autopista.

That's an insult armpits. ;)

In a country of such great beauty and diversity, in people and scenery, I can't think of a more foul representation than Boca Chica.

When are you going and for how many nights? From now until 12/22 is probably the slowest time of the year in that area.

RR,

Then I'd take the advice above. If you can't change your flight to POP, get a driver with a van or use either Caribe Tours or Metro Tours busses, and travel to the North Coast. If it's a "guy trip," you'll want to stay in or around Sosua. The beaches, food options, accommodations, diversions, and chicas are far better than anything you'll encounter in Boca Chica or Juan Dolio. It's also far less expensive to vacation there. There's also much better watersports in nearby Cabarete, and both the non-touristy parts of Sosua and Puerto Plata are fun to check out for new arrivals.

I did Boca Chica with a similar group on my first trip to DR about ten years ago, and it was an utterly forgettable experience. If I hadn't had to return for work a year later, I likely would have never gone back to DR on the basis of that first trip. Like Tambo' said, skip it and head to Sosua.

Note: on your drive out there, you'll pass by the turnoff to Las Terrenas or (if you take the busses) go past Jarabacoa and through Santiago. All of those areas are magnificent places to visit on subsequent trips. If you ride motorcycles, look up Cobraboy on this site. He operates Motocaribe.com, which by all accounts is the best tour outfitter of it's kind on the island.

You may have stated already, but where will you be staying in "JD"?
That makes a big difference.
I always stay at the Embassy Suits, at the Metro CC.
While not on the beach, they have a beach club that is.
They have a free shuttle back and forth.
They have a HUGE pool, swim up bar, and all the usual "Stuff".
It is on the golf course.
There is a shuttle to the casino at night.
If you are staying at an "All Inclusive" in "JD", you will love the sun and beach, but the facilities, and food selection has fallen off in recent years.
Next time go to Punta Cana, or Casa de Campo.
The "Girls" are still in "BC" on the south shore!!!
