I am planning an extended stay in Santiago and I am considering a hotel option. Anyone know of a decent hotel with monthly rates, preferably close to public transportation?

Yes there is a nice place at the corner of Texas Ave and Republica del Libano. This is just a couple of short blocks from the three major publico lines and minutes away from a taxi stand.
If you will PM me, I can give you phone numbers and names. They have pretty fair rates and include breakfast. They provide a kitchen and will even do your shopping if you give them the list.
