I am impressed, too, and laughing my @ss off because the first video compares the machete fighters of the DR to ancient Japanese Samurai. Then I watch the second video, expecting, you know, some Samurai action, swordsmanship, honor, a code of conduct, and I suppose a slaying. Instead, I get "live from the ghetto" and the poor crazy moto guy, distraught and upset, whacking away. OMG

Errm, I forgot, when dogs fight they do have a code of conduct...

I found some other videos but they wouldn't let me post them, too graphic I guess. If you google "Dominican Machete Fight" you can find them (they are not youtube).

Two guys fighting with real swords is the same anytime, anywhere. The samurai didn't always fight with honor. It is glamourized nowadays. If it was possible to see an old samurai fight it would probably look chaotic and similar to these videos. The book goes into a lot of detail about different fights, and it isn't pretty. But who thought a sword fight would be?

Looks like my videos did get posted (a few lines above, #11). Those videos are raw...very brutal stuff.

Cool stuff !! Makes me want to upgrade my home security system ( a Callaway 9 iron) to 9mm.

Imagine if you swung a machete for ten hours a day at work how devastating you would be with it. I wouldnt imagine parrying but a machete will get the job done, Since they use it for everything from carpentry to butcher shops there are alot of guys who know how to swing one.
