Have you ever been to this place? Everything, large or small, wet or dry, will roll in seemingly the opposite direction from where it should. Wwwaaayyy off the beaten path but very entertaining to get to and experience. A must do for your Dominican 'bucket list'.

I've been there some years back with my family and we have a very cool video of it. It's definitely an illusion.

It is not magnetic, I know that, but the illusion is so good that you cannot believe your eyes. In fact, we placed a bottle of water sideways and the water levels at a different angle than your eye will believe it possible.

There is a 10 penny nail in the ground at the exact spot where it happens. Put a small ball (or sideways water bottle) on one side of the nail and nothing happens. On the other side of the nail (about 10cm away) and the thing starts rolling right away..fast.

Sooo cool. A must see!! No cost...it's in the middle of the road!

The location is in the mountains near the village of Polo. There is a turnoff, Careterra Cabral Polo/Calle Presidente Baez, at Cabral near Laguna del Rincon that will direct one to the sight. Barahona is the nearest big city.

Odd to find "polo magnetico" here in the central forum :) Yes it's in the south. Polo is Polo de Barahona. Great optical illusion!!

Was there just a few days ago. The road up has been completely repaved except for a couple very short stretches.

Great illusion.
