From today's Sosua News:

[h=5]ollowing the teachers who demanded a wage increase of 100%, now also other workers take action for a wage increase. They demand an increase of 30% of the minimum wage.[/h] [h=5]Strike in Sos?a?[/h] [h=5]In Sos?a Pedro Pichardo and Jos? Checo are the spokesmen of the various unions announcing this to the local press (Ola TV and ENN). Due to inflation and VAT increases, many foods, fuel and electricity are a lot more expensive. Many families can not make ends meet and thanks to family and neighbors they do have a meager meal once a day. Often consisting of not more than some white rice or plantains with a fried egg. A 30% increase in the minimum wage will be relief for some families. But the real problem is that 60% of the population in Sos?a and surroundings do not have a paid job. What really helps is creating more paid jobs.[/h]
