I have a really nice and well made office chair that came with a cheap plastic base on it. Tonight the base broke and I have no idea where to replace it here in Santiago. I will look in La Casita but other than that I have no idea other than ordering one from the USA. This was unexpected and I really want my comfy chair back.

Many office supply stores sell them, I bough one in La Romana, it was like 1200 pesos with the wheels
Take it to Funcional, which is located on Calle Beller as you come down from the Monument. It is on the right side of the street and has a cyclone fence and you can park off the street.

I just had the seat of an old office chair made of oak re-upholstered. I expect it will outlast me now. They just don't make them like they used to.
