Please rate the new Supermercados Nacional in Santiago based on the overall experience there, including aesthetics of the supermarket inside and out. Also, consider how this experience compares to any of the other Supermercados Nacional stores and other supermarkets such as Bravo, Pola (Sirena), etc.

This supermarket chain is geared towards a mostly upper/upper middle class audience. With this one, there are now 13 stores nationwide.

I liked the one in Punta Cana Village just fine. A little pricy but they had some great specials on wine and other stuff.

A general question: couldn't find sour cream at Pola in Plaza San Juan. What's up with that? Two girls from Spain were looking for it too at the same moment. We had to use natural yogurt on our tacos.

Place is well lit and crowded since its new. Kind of smaller then old, maybe it's not complete? Check out line is smaller cart with toy car attached would not fit through the line.

LOL...
"C" as rumor goes, I may not be big as you but I am also a thick boned. My foot would barely fit in that crap. My son wasn't happy, as we pry him out middle of his semi daily supermarket excursion. My son loves La Sirena near Rafael Vidal, because it has big M store give him ice cream and father or mother pay. My son would've gave this place 0.

well, i have not been to the new one. the old one... the layout of the shop and use of space is crap, frankly. but i liked going there for the fancy shmancy foods they have: imported cheeses, meats and so on. hell expensive but well worth it every now and then. but after even fancier shop for the ricos has been opened - bravo - i think i may start popping there for posh stuff, they have much better and bigger choice.

not that i would travel to santiago just to shop there but occasionally i may pop in and get something new :)

Magnifying the pic to 500% in Chrome it appears there are people waiting at #10 as well. Maybe a problem with a CC or s'thing and Supervisor was called and light turned off so customers chose other lines...

@Lothario666: Nope, it seems NOT to be a truly Dominican picture b/c even w/ 500% I can't detect any CLEAVAGE!!!!
