Can anyone recommend French tuition (for a beginner, more or less) on the North Coast anywhere between the Bomba in Sosua and La Javilla in Pto Pta? Could be private one-to-one tuition or a class. Weekday afternoons only. Perhaps a couple of hours a week or maybe three if in class.

I have had one quote from a suitable teacher but it seems expensive and I have to arrange this on behalf of a friend.

By all means, shop around. But remember, you get what you pay for.
I feel obligated to do my best as it is not my money I am spending.

Incidentally, I cannot think of any country in the world where the dictum "you get what you pay for" is less true than in the DR.

Talk to three tutors. The cheapest may be the best. You never know.
