Laugh, you haven't had a prostate exam until you have one given by a Federal Aviation Administration Flight Surgeon. When you notice the rubber glove he is putting on goes all the way to his elbow its too late to run :hurt:

prostate examinations are overrated. the ones at Bournigal, given by the consummate master, Camilo Crespo, are a momentary discomfort. i have felt more anguish losing a game of dominoes to amateurs.

I chose a little Chinese doctor thinking with her small finger it would be discomfort free. I don't know what she did different but I can tell you it certainly wasn't a pleasureful event. Cramping....etc. I never had that before or since. Her name was Minnie Ho (truly)

I usually have one done every two years, and the last one i had was last year at the casino clinic done by a beautifull sexy doctoresse. I had the feeling that she was enjoying her job. It was not paintfull and nothing to worry about !! It may save you from cancer...

"You seem to be doing very well, because that's my watch"

Oh boy. At 41, I'm still finding excuses not to go just yet.

I beat colon cancer at 40 because I decided to do a colonoscopy. Everyone said I should wait until 50 to do it. Insurance said they would pay so I did it. Full of polyps!!!!!!!! They cut 2 feet of it and sure enough a cancer was forming.

God (did I say that?) is great!!!!

In many of these cases - colonoscopy, prostate, etc.... the age is dropping.

BB - the insurance company is good at predicting odds - they know when to pay - when paying pays off....

You are a star case for that.
How happy were you??? Can you spell 'ecstatic'???

Good for you. I guess doing a voluntary colonoscopy must take a lot of courage...

The worse part was all the laxatives the day before. They knock you out. Did not feel a thing.

Ecstatic was not the word!!!!!!

I always say that medicine is a little underdeveloped in that sense. Those medical exams are barbaric. One would think that by now cancer should be detected much more efficiently than by probing the patient's body. Oh well, I guess that for those who benefit from it (like our friend BB here) couldn't care less because the reward was well worth it. But still...

I heard something the other day that a new procedure is going to take the place of colonoscopies where the polyps will be indentified before hand to avoid unnecessary invasive colonoscopies.

i say! you can make a nice neat coochie from the peen, you can have a face transplant and a variety of other high tech procedures but nothing has been done about good, ole' anal excavation to check for cancer... and for females it's still down to enthusiastic finger wiggle and some internal scrapping. damn. the money for medical research goes in the wrong direction, i tell ya.

I am tested annually - 60yrs + - the PSA reading from your blood is a good measure, but they really need to feel the gland for the size and texture.

Seeing as it's one of the leading cancers in males - I'm agreeable to being 'digitized'...... others may even look forward to it....

The other prescription offered frequently for my age group is to remember to use it......... I try to remember that every day.....

Maybe we should combine this thread w/ the Cab/Sos thread..... those girls could be classified as medical practitioners of sorts...... doctor's assistants, maybe.

Check your health insurance policy..... they could be a valid deduction

They can now train dogs to sniff out cancer...

The question remains... you want a finger up your ass, or the nose of a rottweiler?
