Hello all,

I saw that there are many threads regarding getting Dominican citizenship through parents but how would one go about getting Dominican citizenship through a grandparent?

My grandmother was born in Santiago, my mother was born in NYC, and I was born in NYC.

Thank you,

Basically it's the same as if you were doing through your mother, except you need an extra birth certificate to prove that you are the descendant of a Dominican. The new Constitution grants Dominican nationality to "the direct descendants of Dominicans residing abroad" (Art. 18.6).

How many generations back are you allowed?
