That's a great way to develop a vibrant economy - tax small business and then hut them down when you say they owe.

where do these idiot Dominican politicos learn their economics ??

probably from the same place President Obama learned his !

Thanks Pichardo for showing us these pictures of small businesses who opened in one or more of your fantastic profitable shopping malls who maybe didn't even have enough customers to make a living let alone pay taxes.
What about the developer/owner of these malls, I wonder if he has to pay taxes? ;)

Now we know why there are so many malls being built, it's a trap.
There are still a few centavos left in the hands of the public yet to be squeezed.

Next step is to carry out surprise inspection with the labor authorities along the taxman to several large employers.

Workers will be quiz in private to find out about their wages and work hours, rest periods, end of year participatory 10%, bonus pay, OT pay, etc...

Then the managers and later boss.

This will drive out under-reporting of wages, under the table pay, OT hours abuses, rests between long shifts violations, etc...

Fines to follow soon after...

Next the taxman will move to audit certain service and goods providers, gaining a window into particular clients that don't report on their extra services/goods on their taxes.

Those business owners and workers will have to "get their stories straight" ahead of time.

They have no right to ask employees anything. My staff had standing orders not to talk to those a**holes. When they tried, the employee always refered them to me.

scorpion, you are really quite silly sometimes. show me where i said the tax office will go after motoconchos? i never did. because, alas, this is not likely to happen. but if someone has a registered business with RNC number... different story. tax men here take time. which is why they may offer a sudden kick in the arse about unpaid tax from 5 years ago. and they will get the business into deep trouble over this...
