I've been following Filterpure Filters for awhile now, they donate these to the poor in DR, and claim that where they are being used to filter drinking water there is no cholera.

They have a facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/filterpurefilters?hc_location=stream and today they posted a note that the Dominican Red Cross has picked up the first 200 of 1100 new filters being distributed around DR.

Still following these people, doing good things. Their FB post today:

"Today we were able to bring 250 filters for all of the families at the Kids Alive School in Jarabacoa. This project was sponsored by Surge for Water and Wine to Water! We have AMAZING partners!!!! Thank you for your sponsorships and the matching grant from Surge for Water."

They are helped financially by some "local Caribbean businessmen" who are very fortunate. I get all turned on by people anonymously helping others less fortunate!! Thanks for sharing this AE..
