What cellphone service or prepaid cellphone has best rate that I should get to call ny from Santo Domingo. And where can I ge it. I will be traveling t DR in 2 weeks.

Go online or your provider to have your cell unlocked..When you come to SD, change the sim card for here with Claro or orange..

I use Claro, you buy prepaid cards [100 pesos, 250 pesos, 500 pesos, etc] and use them until the run out. I believe a call to the US using them costs the same as a call to the DR. The minutes seem to go fast, but you don't pay for incoming calls.

The best rate to call you get it with VIVA, RD$ 7.52 tax included.

Also in prepaid service you can buy international package minutes for 25.00 Dominican pesos you get 15 free minutes to USA, PR or Canada, 15 minutes VIVA numbers and 15 SMS.
