Bus from Santo Domingo to Las Terrenas

Hi
please can you advise me of bus time from SD to LT, cost, and where in SD is the bus terminal.
I know it is like travelling in a sardine can, I have done it before a few years ago.
The altrernative option of luxury bus to Sanchez and then changing seems like too much hassle.

The cost of the bus ride is about $9 us. If you are not in SD you can also pick up the bus at the small terminal just before the entrance to the SD-Samana highway. The bus stops there before it gets on the highway.

caught the bus today, departed 11.05am and arrived 1.50pm. Comfortable, lots of space and air con.
350 pesos. Bargain.

Unless you really want to travel along side the Cordillera Mountains or the vast rice fields of the old, more expensive, route to LT via Sanchez on the Caribe Tours, the large guagua is definitely the way to go. And, btw, it may rain for a while, but oh the sun, the beach, and the tranquil ocean at LT, more than make up for it. My favorite place in the DR! Enjoy!

Hi all
Saturday morning and the sun is shining. Heading to the beach...
Ps. I hear that only the early morning bus back to SD is the large one. The afternoon buses are the small type ! Is that correct and has anyone had any recent experience please ?

Size is overrated, they will all take you to your destination. Enjoy your time by the beach as much as you can :)

The express bus at 7 AM is a larger bus. Get there early for a good seat. Via Con Dios.

sorry that I have to disagree with Africaida, the larger bus is much better. It's depressing to leave LT at any time of the day, but especially that early. I got to the bus stop 20 minutes before schedule and there was already a line.
