The last 2 weeks there were problems with the water distribution b/c their planta was damaged. Now it was working for 2 days again and now again no water...

Yesterday Claro called they need to downgrade my 8 mb Internet to 6 mb since they can't provide a stable 8 mb to where I live in PB ("too deep inside...") It is Internet fijo with a line mind you! And it only worked fine for the last 6 month... Idiots! I assume they need capacity to sell more contracts in PB or such, dunno.

Anyway, I am playing with the thought to move.

My question: How much (more or less) is a 3 - 4 BR House with Garden in Punta Cana Village or Cocotal or another safe area?

If it was only the water I would be happy... The garbage, security. .. And still expect me to pay for services I am not receiving. .. Went to try to pay just for the water cause thats all I was receiving but they wouldn't accept it... Actually thinking bringing a bag of dirty pampers there to the office since my bin is full... There actually is a group of neighbors getting together to try to resolve some problems...

PB was originally planned as an affordable housing development for local residents and employees in the tourism industry, but a former government minister somehow owns it and has developed it as a private enterprise. Unfortunately, residents have not got what they paid for in terms of security and quality of life. Some of the self-contained gated apartment buildings and housing complexes within PB are better managed than others but PB as a whole has looked half-finished for years with many empty lots, no proper recreation areas, and friends who live there complain of crime being on the increase.

About two weeks ago I noticed my DSL line was not getting much speed. I was paying for 4 Mb/s download and was getting about 1 Mb/s. I called CLARO to complain. During the course of a week they sent technicians twice, I spoke to their tech department several times and they told me all I could get was 1 Mb/s when for 10 years I was getting almost 4 times that.

Idiots indeed they are at CLARO. I now have a cable modem and cut CLARO's service entirely.

Good luck with your other issues in that part of the country. CLARO seems to be the same everywhere.

Viernes, noviembre 22, 2013, Santo Domingo, Rep. Dom.
