Army increased border enforcement by massive influx of Haitians

Inserted 509 enlisted and 84 PATROL OFFICERS IN SAFETY PLAN

The head of the Army, Major General Ruben Paulino Sem said today that in January increased surveillance in the Dominican-Haitian border due to the massive influx of Haitians returning home after visiting relatives.

"In January we do have a massive flow and have already made requisite coordination with both Cesfront with Migration and all authorities involved in what the customs border," he said.

Paulino Sem statements were offered during the graduation of 852 soldiers of the institution, the courses they offer different Schools of the Directorate General of Military Training (DGEM), Brigadier General Elio E. Osiris Perdomo (DEM), located in San Isidro, Santo Domingo East.

Paulino Sem also explained that of these, 509 enlisted and 84 officers will be inserted in patrolling the Public Safety Plan.

That makes Al Jazeera no different than 99% of the other media outlets reporting on this topic.
They deserve credit for publishing a full-length rebuttal (the original article was an opinion piece). Most others don't bother with rebuttals, unless they are written by Ambassadors...and even then, usually only publish a paragraph or two from the Ambassador, which isn't enough to answer most of the erroneous material.

I agree, it's become a witch-hunt, with the DR being the target. No one is interested in the truth or the actual law, that isn't sensational enough, and sensational sells papers.
