From today's Sosua News:

Under the supervision of H?ctor V?squez, president of the Civil Guard, this year's food packages, donated by the 'Strauss Foundation' were handed out on Friday December 20 to hundreds of poor families in Sos?a. The Strauss Foundation, chaired by Herman Strauss, former director of Productos Sos?a, supports the Sos?a community in many ways.

The Foundation is co-sponsored by Freddy Milz, Tom Ure?a, Supermercado Playero, Family Valconi, Supermercado Sos?a, Baileys Restaurant and Juan Perdomo. H?ctor V?squez had given the families who were selected for a food parcel a ticket. With this ticket the families could receive a food package consisting of rice, oil, coffee, sugar, pasta, sauce, beans, corn flour, chicken etc. on Friday afternoon. Thanks to the system with the tickets, there was no pushy crowd at the handing out and everything went quiet. The mothers of the elected families expressed their gratitude for getting these food packages. They explained that now they could also look forward to a good Christmas.
