Crucible, where to buy one

What do you need it for? Sometimes a simple terra cotta pot without a hole in it will work. I've seen them used them for playing with thermite.

Unfortunately I don't think it will withstand the temperature I need it to get to, about 1100 C

Thermite burns at 2500F which is pretty close to 1100C. For about a buck a pot, it might be worth a try. If you're melting lead, a heavy aluminum cooking pot will do.

i think you may have to do amazon. you can find graphite or alumina crucibles there. they are fairly cheap and not that heavy to ship.
