From today's Sosua News:

Tomorrow evening, Saturday, January 18th at 8:30, an exhibition of artwork produced by Armando Casciati opens in the cultural center (Casa de Arte) of Sos?a. In Sos?a we know Armando Casciati as the owner of a hotel, bar and nightclub. Armando, Milanese (Italy) from birth, owns the Merengue bar with disco d'Clasico. That is one side of the life of this successful entrepreneur. But Armando has another side. At a young age, his parents discovered that Armando was very creative. Already at the age of five he revealed his talent to make drawings. Everything around him was a reason to draw it on paper. Later in life he discovered that he had talents as a painter too. Armando was initially inspired by the impressionist school. The expressiveness of Van Gogh and the precision of Manet influenced him the most. He painted his son, his first wife, his friends, city scenes and landscapes. But with this style he could not express what he felt and what he thought of the world. He adapted his style in the direction of the Surrealist school.

Salvador Dali is the best known representative of this style.

Armando kept painting figurative, but from now on he incorporated a clear message in his paintings. The paintings were references to the virtues and vices of man. But he also made works in which he expresses the beauty and his respect for womanhood.

Of course his work attracted the attention and he was repeatedly asked to exhibit his work. After much insistence, he was persuaded, and he exhibited his work in Santo Domingo and later again in Puerto Plata. Now mayor Ilana Neumann and the director of Casa de Arte, Adolfo Faringthon, convinced the Milanese painter that he should put his work on display in the cultural center of Sos?a. Armando does have stipulated that two fellow artists, Pery Jim?nez and Grimaldy Polanco, can also bring their work to the attention of the public. Casa de Arte is located right opposite the Casino Sos?a Bay at the beginning of the Pedro Clisante street.

Armando Casciati is truly a creative human being. Only someone with his talent could have persuaded the law that the Philipp family signed over our preferred shares in Sosua Bay Resort to him for NO money. Or that he was innocent of murder. Truth is stranger than fiction, I guess. Smelling like a rose these days, is he?
