I am not quite sure if this is an repost since I cant find similar thread. However, I am not sure if I am mistaken. I remember I am allowed to bring $5,000USD cash on a plane to DR and if I carry over that amount, I must declare.

Please clarify on this if the amount is correct or not.

Thanks!

So that would mean I would advice my family to travel on their own so I can be able to bring $30,000 into DR, eh? I'm just saying as a example.

WHY would you do that?

For about $40-50 you can have your bank wire $30K SAFELY into your DR bank.

per family..... maybe if you all have separate tickets and walk in separately you can squeeze $30k out of it.
Different names will help too.
Not all on the same reservation is key

Alterego has the right idea. It will only take a couple of days for the money to be in your account.

The customs declaration specifically asks, how many family members are traveling with you, is this your first time leaving Miami?

ONE FAMILY = $10,000

Wire it, as suggested, much safer.

Therefore, to do that, you will have to open up a account in DR first before wire any money. I am not sure if banks in DR is reliable for me to do wire transfers. I might open a account with Bank Popluar since they are one of best banks in SD, unless you can recommend me one.

Plus, the wire transfer is not $40-50 anymore, my current bank now charges $75-125 for International Wire Transfer while $50-75 in the USA only. The rates went up, crazy right?

It's not my first time, its like my 6 or 7th visit. Reason of me bringing that much so I can use to pay for my condo rental in DR, I never tried wire transfer cuz I dont have bank in DR as yet.
