Here in JARABACOA there are a number of talented artists and their painting are generally not that expensive. I would imagine that almost all areas of the DR are similar in terms of artists.

About 20 years ago we stopped in an artist's studio in Jarabacoa, J.Urena, excellent artist. We bought a painting from him that day, which is in my dining room in New Jersey. He wasn't that young at the time, I wonder if he's still painting, or even alive! Do you know his name Bob?

i bought a small painting in santi..by a young skinny guy..5 0r 6 horses charging or galloping ...it got my attention and the price was so fair i gave the asking price...had quite a few comments to the good about it...maybe ill move it around...
