Sosua Ocean Village. Its a bit expensive but has ac. Used to be a Golds gym franchise. They do not keep it cool like back home but it beats fans. On the main road going into Sosua on the right. In the area of Coastal Gas station. Good equipment, mostly gringo clientele last time I was there. Other choice for less money and ac is Platinums above the Casino. Ken touts Platinums all the time so maybe you will run into him and a bit of the new culture of Sosua will rub off. You want good you have to drive. You should have moved to Sosua in the first place and saved yourself all this trouble. Best little town in the DR, hands down.

There is a small gym at Millennium Resort. It has weights, a treadmill and elliptical machine, and another machines (very futuristic) that I don't know the name but hear is a very expensive one. You can enter through the Spa and is open to anyone who pays their daily or monthly fee.

THANK YOU! I don't care about cost, I just NEED AC or actual fans being used so I don't pass out!!

Thank you Tom! It scared me, I have been drinking tons of water but I just can't handle heat!

I'm originally from the southwest, so I understand the heat issue. For our high school football team, "hell week" meant training in the middle of the day when temperatures could go north of 115F. These days (and after several decades of near-fatal heat exhaustion cases), they do early-morning and twilight practices, which makes it all much more bearable.

Which brings us back to you. If the distances are too great to travel, consider hitting the gym super early (6 or 7 a.m), before it gets warmer. If you're a night owl, then exercise after your wife gets home and the car's available.

It's got A/C. My comment about expensive was not about their fee but about this futuristic looking machine they got there. I think someone told me it costs $25 USD a month.

Harley, check in at the Viva Wyndham in cabarete. They used to allow memberships for locals in the hotel gym. The price was reasonable and they had a trainer on site

Check em all out but I have never seen a hotel gym in the DR that is a real gym. A few machines maybe some dumbells but not
a real gym. Like it or not you will end up driving. Frank 12 used to drive into Platinums daily from CAb. I think he switched over to SOV. The plus is that you will get a chance to soak up some culture while you are in Sosua.

That machine looked interesting, wasn't into taking a 30 minutes course that they make you take first tho. She didn't tell me it cost extra but who knows.
It's $40US a month or $5 a day just in case anyone wants to know. They are open 10am-8pm m-sat and 10-2 on sundays.

Do they have a spa there? A dry sauna and turkish sauna?
