Orange Internet troubles?

In September 2013 I bought a "wifi hotspot" internet service device from Orange - they offered 5GB monthly download upgraded to 10GB for the first year (so they said, and so their paperwork said). But in fact they would only provide 5GB service to me after the first month.

I made several attempts to correct this - main office, point of sale, telephone contacts, technical support office, and local payment office, but each time I received a new and different explanation of why they could not help me. Have others had similar experience?

Now, I wish to send them a certified letter (on advice of lawyer) - but they seem to be extremely cagey about giving out their mailing addresses. Maybe this is due to infrequent use of mail? Or maybe they do not like to receive certified letters? On a recent visit to their offices, the receptionist and the regular customer service agent (on whom I had to wait several minutes in a queue) could not help me. I was referred to "technical specialist" with another long wait in a queue. Maybe I should have persisted but I was getting a little bit mad by then and quit. Has anyone attempted to have written correspondence with Orange?

If you have the Flybox, it is worthless to begin with. Just move on and forget about these bums.

I have a Flybox since the service started in 2010. It works perfectly and it's really fast! I am always in high-speed, as I have 100GB/month. My average download speed is 4.5Mb/s.

If you don't mind me asking....how much does this cost a month?

I have often changed my Orange plans (phone & internet), and never had a problem. Sometimes it can't be dealt over the phone, so you just need to go to a main "official" office, with your cedula, and a customer service rep will help you out. In your case, just upgrade your plan to at least a 30GB/month plan, and things will be much better. Btw, get a "duplica tu plan", it's really worth it!

my service with Orange was not Flybox, but rather a small ZTE "Global Mobile Hotspot" with a SIM card. It was about the size of a cellphone but no keys - just on or off. It connected automatically when turned on. The cost was 900 $RD monthly for a prepaid plan, plus a 1000 $RD startup fee. I could never get them to give the service as promised, and finally quit pre-paying in February. After 5GB it still connected but was very slow. Now I am getting harassment calls from some collection agency/lawyer in Sto Domingo, which I ignore, but my lawyer said it is always prudent to try and resolve such matters - hence my inquiry about an address for sending a letter.

I have wifi internet service by local internet company in my village - their service is sporadic and sometimes quite slow, but other times it works great; unpredictable. It costs 1500 monthly and they do not specify any limits but effectively that gets me an average rate of 1 Mbps on clear sunny days when the stars and planets are properly aligned :D

Hi I have had Orange Flybox for over two years, all of a sudden my computers were acting odd....TROJAN HORSE....took it in, cleaned etc...hooked back to flybox voila same problem...another Trojan horse....went to orange store and they acknowledged that they had had a "problem" they were fixing but it would take time......waited over a week with computer loaded with virus, Trojan horses removed....now with Delance, afraid to hook back up to Orange, this was about 8 weeks ago. Always had great results with the Flybox until then. I too work online and that "glitch" cost me dearly. Just an FYI

I work from home using Wind Telecom with zero problems. I pay about 2,200 a month for 4down/ 1up.
Here in SD Este its comes back at about 2.8down/ .75 up which
is a hell of a lot better than anything I ever received from Orange.

So, nobody can find an address in the Dominican Republic (particularly Santiago) for Orange? I mean, they have a well known street address - can't hide that; but is there no Orange-provided contact address? I certainly cannot find it. Is this odd?

Thanks Bred for that research, but I am hoping to know of an Orange-provided address in Santiago. This Sto Domingo address may be obsolete since it seems to be from a webpage that cites 2010 events. I would not have much faith in reaching an actual client-services office there - but maybe . . .
