From today's Sosua News:

Thursday 11 September, the Environmental Film Festival starts in the auditorium of the Victoria Hotel (part of the Sos?a Bay complex). The three-day film festival held in Sos?a and Puerto Plata is organized by the Fung Lode foundation and the foundation GFDD from the USA. They provide lectures, workshops and social activities with filmmakers, producers and experts in the field of environment. There are five focus areas: oceans, biodiversity, green economy, sustainable agriculture and climate change, with the aim to achieve an attitude change and a policy change in the field of environmental management. The event opens with an inauguration of an exhibition in the auditorium of the Victoria Hotel. Next two documentaries will be shown. Namely the Dominican production 'Google Earth Tour' about the ocean and coasts of the Dominican Republic. The second production is manufactured by American filmmakers under the title 'Gringo Trails'. Both the exhibition and the documentaries are open to the public free of charge. On Friday 12 and Saturday, September 13th, the festival then continues at various locations in Puerto Plata.
