Trying to argue that point is illogical SINCE, there is a HAITIAN forum.

Not really, Baby Doc is/was not important to the DR. Just because you think so doesn't make it so.

Not on the north coast. Not many tourists either compared to today. In 1985 the PoP population was 10% of its current size.
I don't recall seeing any Haitians in PoP in 1980 while visiting, and only rarely after living here from 1984. The flood of Haitians seems to me to have begun in the mid-2000s, though of course it had ramped up since the 90s.
im sure he had plenty of influence on d.r.// its leaders /trade etc.

I remember that he was paying the most enormous amount of rent i had ever heard of living in France..I think it was around 40million u.s. dollars a year...Of course it was the size of a small country, a county in some states, huge staff etc..
