As far as I know it pass's through Sosua early in the AM. I think it stops where the transport place is. I would check with the people over there. It is a bit past the Police Station on your right.

Early? Like at 5 or 6am?
:)
And is it a website where I could check the schedule?

There are two, both across the Bomba:
1. 7:30 am, be there 7:15
2. 1:30 pm, be there 1:15
The second goes directly to Las Terranas, with the first (earlier) you must change to a guagua/publico near Sanchez (they a waiting for the bus there).
I'd prefer the early one, the later ist offen very full and hot and your luggage will be on the roof (but safely).
Both take about 4 hours, making a 10 min stop in Nagua.
Be careful to take the right bus, sometimes the guagua's to Rio San Juan try to take you saying they go to LT.

You can phone them the day before:
Papagayo: between 7:15 and 7:30am across La Bomba in Sosua. Cel: 8097496415.
Transporte Las Terrenas: leaving Puerto Plata 1:00pm, in Sosua 1:30pm. Cel: 8297726608.

as you say, it's important to look. the guagua should have a huge sticker in the front saying puerto plata - samana. sometimes they are also a bit bigger guaguas than the regular ones.

They actually do go to LT.... just make a few stops and changes...

Like in RSJ.... then Nagua..... and maybe one more before LT

colorful trip , to say the least

The 1:30pm goes directly to LT, no changes.
With the 7:30am you have to change to another one for the last 30 min.

I was talking about the RSJ guagua ..... it has the multi stops/changes

small, rough ride and crowded..... easy way to make new friends ....

Hola thanks for all the information which were very practical
We took the bus at La Bomba de Sosua and got straight to the bottom of the hill which leads to Las Terrenas 300 pesos each
Then we took the carrito publico 70 pesos each and got to Las Terrenas

Now in 3 days we must get back to Sosua
Anyone knows the process?
:)

It's Transporte Las Terenas. There's an old thread on it if you can navigate the search function. The same bus goes back. Ask around town, easy to find out.
