Thanks guys, but before you set any rules try to get some posters. At last count there were 23 all time posters. Today, in the new Bravenet there cannot be more than 10.

Re: "Advisory for Travelers to the Dominican Repub

So far most posts have been arguments over the old Bravenet site...hopefully they will get it together sometime...there's room for all. Personally DR1 gives me more info.

Rob, you are a ____ and a _____. There now I can't be accused of kissing up.

I agree. Old arguments need not be dredged up. Let's get on with it.

Re: Do we get a link?

In my opinion, a Bravenet/DR1 link is not harmful to either one. There really is no competition. Many people post in both places. I know I do. Sometimes a poster(like Grahame Bush) takes a vacation and goes to sunny Bravenet for a couple of weeks, only to return to his homeport of DR1. I started in DR1, and until I am banned by Rob for my Dominican fundamentalist ideas, DR1 will remain my main forum. I went to Bravenet thanks to a discussion between Tom and Rob on DR1. Otherwise I would have never know about it.

Re: Ok, looks good! Even I might post :)

Certainly Rob, by all means feel free to post, just please follow the guide lines. LOL
I think all good forums have one thing in common, to allow a diverse range of opinions.

It's a little confusing....

Two forums with the same name, on the same host.

I'm sure I'll work it out :)

We only give sites links that can...

reciprocate the traffic. Hence, no links on DR1 :)

This will change very soon when we give sites other options for linking to us and visa versa.

Just clicked on "Dominican Republic Forum - Questions, answers, opinions, and comments about the Dominican Republic" and this was their response:

"Error processing your request.
Sorry, the owner of this service has elected to ban your IP address (xxx.xx... ) from using any of their services. If you have any questions please contact the owner of the Web Site, NOT Bravenet. Thank you."

Also last night I noticed that our start up announcement message had been deleted from that board, guess we aren't welcomed and won't get an invite to the Xmas party. . . LOL

Re: "Advisory for... ~ ~ ~ Confusion ~ ~ ~ ? ? ?

~ ~ ~ Confusion ~ ~ ~

This post by "Dominican Republic Forum" has an obvious mistake: }}} "Posted By: The Advisory
team (168.143.112.8) " {{{ and if it was done intentionally I don't know, maybe just a simple mistake. Also the use of the "Escudo Nacional" is a direct rip-off of the old "Advisory for Travelers to DR". If a well meaning individual wants to have a message board that's about the DR, then so be it, just please make an attempt to do it honestly. . . IMHO

Ok, ok, alright already!

I have no objection to you posting on DR1, but when it boarders on spam, I start to hoover over that delete button.

I think everyone is now aware of your forum.

Re: Bravenet DR forum link ~ ~ ~ for real ~ ~ ~

First you rip off the old Bravenet forum and now you're even using "The Advisory Team" name in an attempt to confuse everybody. Your IP gives you away. Don't you have any originality or are you going to continue with the same old tired crap that you spread all over the old Bravenet Traveller's Advisory Forum? We know who you are.
