Private guide wanted with car

4 of us will be in Santo Domingo between Christmas and New Year's eve. and would like to hire a Guide for either a half or a full-day, preferably with a car. Please advise of any recommendations; price; and suggested itinerary,
with references, if available.

There are many people with cars and would be willing to show you Santo Domingo but I wouldn't call them guides. I would take a taxi to the Colonial Zone and there are tour guides waiting to show you the historical sites. Many of these people are bi-lingual and no some of the historical background. Just remember many want to also take you to a couple of places to shop, suck as, a gift shop or cigar shop. You are not obligated to buy anything but these guides do get a kick back if you do. I am not sure what the current rate is . Finding a guide with references is probably not going to happen. You are not in Kansas anymore.

where you're staying may be able to get you a car and driver..... it's not an unusual request

check there first..... they'll be more service oriented than this bunch

altho I like this bunch..... sometimes you do better on your own.
