I hope they can somehow fix this problem. Police running drugs is horrible and leaves people with a really bad impression about this country's ability to govern itself.

ooh, in the US he sure will find many many who been paid by taxmonies but made some extra big bucks on Drugs, somehow those drugs have to arrive there and be "allowed" to enter those countries, lol.
if he is not behind Bars, then he will get a ride out and a good passport to ride somewhere else In, when ever he wants. we are a Island, and that surrounding water connects us with so many beautiful countries/Islands where some greenbucks make for a very good living, hehe.
seriously, i just guess he overdid it. he should have gone to a "early retirement" before they came after him, but as so often those guys never get enough, they wanna make an other deal and an other and an other, til its too late to leave silently.

Embassador "Wally" will have to keep watch that all those government drug dealer won't sneak out...

There is no way to "fix" this problem by continuing the current drug war policy. Read the news 6 months to a year from now, the only thing that changes are the names of the police involved running drugs.

Legalize, regulate and tax it.

change the Law to force people to proof where their money comes from.
what all the rich gangsters, may they be Narcotraffickers or assisting Police members or Politicians or Prosecutors or Judges etc etc, what they all have in common is a huge Income, much much more money than they could ever dream to earn with theirofficial job, and they all have of course the desire to live the big life, pay highest luxuries with that money. at their assets/purse you always get them all.
a PN Seargant drives a 2013 Jeepeta? check out where the money came from to pay that vehicle, if he cant proof that he inheritaged a rich american uncle lately then take the jeepeta away and investigate the biach till all is found.
and of course such has to start firt on the top of the inside cartells, it has to start with the Leaders of Police and Military, with the country's leaders in political powers, it has to include the top prosecutors and the jusges all together alikes.
you always get them when you take their money away, or hinder that they can life the sweet luxury life with that money.

i know, now you say they will split up those monies between them, heck, then they would do the same with taxes collected thru legalized drugs, a never ending story then.
the first thing to bother high level criminals is to stop that they can buy luxuries and life a over the top lifestyle with their gangster money. the only reason notto imply taxes for such actions is that on all levels the politicians would be on top of the lists, hence they will not bring up laws kicking their own butt or taking their Novia's Jeepeta away. thats more or less the same lil problem world around.

The government, the justice system and all the police forces are highly corrupt and full of criminals.
They won't hurt each other.
Nothing good comes out of those narco infiltrated bodies.
Thus the system of checks and balances cannot work.

This country needs 1,000 Francisco Brito's.
