are there any good restaurants near jarabacoa...a good steak would be nice ...but will settle for a good meal

That was our verdict too, after our visit there last November. We also thought the prices were reasonable, but we're used to Punta Cana/B?varo prices.

A 5 - 10 minute walk from Caribe Tours bus depot. Parking lot, excellent food, and great service. As you enter downtown Jarabacoa stay straight, continue about four blocks through the downtown section on independencia. The restaurant sits back from the street as the parking lot is in front. There is a sign hanging out front so you should not miss the restaurant.
Easy to get to............

What is it with DR? Many times a place with a great view has so so food. Places with good food have so so ambience, views or locations.
The biggest example of that was always Camp David in STI. Never bad food, but never all that good either. Great view though.
Last trip the hotel really screwed us over. . ..but. . .the restaurant food was very good. Up several notches from normal.
Want to visit jarabacoa in the hot summer months so restaurant suggestions will help.
