From all that I have read, it would appear that if some car-less soul needs to travel from the Sosua/Puerto Plata area to Punta Cana on a weekday , the best way (maybe the only way) is to take the Metro bus or Caribe Tours bus to Santo Domingo and then transfer to the bus service that travels from SD to Punta Cana. Is this basic premise still correct?

What is the name of the bus service from SD to Punta Cana? I'll need to find a website and check out the departure schedules to see how early I will have to leave the North Coast.

Thx.

Thanks Kate

Mu?ecote,

I'm not quite sure I understand the reference to "getting San Pedro'd" but I'm pretty sure it's not a good thing. I assume you are referring to cedula being valid for a potential immigration check?

Expreso Bavaro is the only direct service. They have the monopoly. But at least their buses are pretty much always on time and quite comfy. Bring a jacket or sweater though. Sometimes they seem to want to "conserve" their passengers with the a/c on full blast.
