I don't recall a day like this in the last few years. Tons of rain. Probably some flooding too?

The clouds have been building since late morning in Sosua and we were completely blanketed by 3 pm. A few light showers started at 5 pm and now a light but steady rain.

20 km north of PC we had a couple of drops of rain but it has been very cloudy.

Strange ... just a short downpour here. I usually say, when it rains in PUJ it rains in the whole DR (and especially Higuey) ... but today was a very very rare exception

february the rains whenu live in a cement house or apt/condo etc i used to get chilled....floor cold clothes cold i will turn on the oven (waste gas) but f --- it... i got fuel(diesel)and money for another tank...but that daily rain mostly 4 pm everyday...

Our apartment flooded in this morning's downpour. Water streamed in from the roof terrace, whose floor is cleverly designed so that the rainwater flows towards the door.

Ouch, sorry to hear that. Back when I used to live in your neck of the woods water would accumulate in my back yard and eventually make its way into the house. Not fun.

i feel it may be the same user friendly design i see in many windows with frames ever so slightly tilted to the inside so that one never forgets that mama nature is the ruler as the water happily trickles towards the floor...

Had to go to Bavaro this morning. I should have used a boat instead of the SUV... :D

Now I am back in Higuey and now it has started here...

I received a text with a picture, taken at/near the new terminal at PUJ. It shows a couple of cars underwater.
