Hess School student wins 1st Place National Chemistry award

All too often only negative news about the area hits the news. This Hess student deserves our kudos.
Daniela Silverio Garcia, won first place in the National Chemistry Olympiad, academic contest that was organized by the Ministry of Education.

Silverio Garcia studied at the private school Luis Hess of the tourist town of Sosua, which visibly moved by the director of that school; lawyer Miguel Angel Rivera, unveiled to the media on the important achievement reached by that student.

They explained that the young student of Sosua, after competing in contests conducted in the 11-01 school district and regional education of Puerto Plata, the distinction of representing the province in the National Olympics won in Santo Domingo, where they were the best students in each regional.

Here is hoping that Daniela has the opportunity to continue her studies and in time is in a position to bring positive change to here town, country and her people without succumbing to the temptation of slurping at the trough. This student deserves all the encouragement and support the community can muster.
