Hi. Need to find a good price on a jetted bathtub. Just a small 5' one for the bathroom. The American Ferreteria was ridiculously expensive. I know Ochoa has good prices, but maybe there is a better place with a bigger selection? Would appreciate some advice.
Also a good pet store.
Thanks
Donna

Would like to help but we do not take baths, jetted or not. Lots of pet stores but helps if we know where you are looking.

I would suggest you talk to Zodiac Baths in Santo Domingo (their phone number is (809) 564-6298). They mainly do Jacuzzi's but I think they also do bath tubs. They are one of the main specialists in jacuzzis on the island, they do a lot of hotels and also provide an installation service. If they don't do the bath, then I imagine they would know someone who does. I have only ever spoken to them in Spanish, I think you may need a Spanish speaker.

ai, ai, ai. I love this country. I love the people, the culture, the crazeee. But I sag---absolutely sag---with longing for a bathtub. I have been known to take a bus to the Capital for a weekend to stay at ElEmbajador for the sole reason of a tub. My friends and family in the US know that it's all I want when I visit. They think I live in the Third World. I keep explaining it's the 2.5 World. If it were really Third World, the issue would be water, not how it's delivered.

When I leave my current gig (managing a small hotel on the North Coast) to set up house on my own, a bathtub is my chief priority. Don't need jets or jacuzzi. Just 10 inches of warm water in which to soak. Preferably with lavender.

Come to Santo Domingo… there are many hardware stores:

If you are driving down from Puerto Plata on the Duarte Highway which becomes JF Kennedy Avenue:

1) Innova. Take a right down the Manoguayabo road.
2) Manuel Corripio. On the same JF Kennedy avenue, shortly before Nunez de Caceres avenue.
3) Turn right on Nunez de Caceres. Drive down to La Iberica.
4) Then head east to La Carabela on Lope de Vega.
5) Back on JF Kennedy there is La Americana and next door Ikea.

For starters… there are others… but those are which come to mind.

Also, there seem to be a lot of appliance stores in Sabaneta. It's where we go for small room refrigerators and when we replaced our washing machine at the hotel.

I have to agree - sometimes nothing is better than a good bath - I make my own bubbles though jejejeje

On the list for stores selling bath fixtures… Almacenes Unidos, also on JF Kennedy.

The route would then be:
6) Almacenes Unidos… on the way heading north.
