I don't think there has been a year where the AL east has been this closely contested as we approach the All Star break

W L PCT GB
NY Yankees44 38 .537 -
Baltimore 43 40 .518 1.5
Tampa Bay 43 41 .512 2.0
Toronto 43 42 .506 2.5
Boston 39 45 .464 6.0

The Yankees don't even have an All Star voted in. Good management and team effort have helped. ARod has actually helped beyond expectations. Having CC Sabathia, sadly, has hurt.
I am pleasantly surprised the Yankees are still doing OK and Boston is where they belong in the standings despite Boston still being a bit too close in the race.

Go Yankees!

I follow the ALE being a faithful Blue Jay fan (and therefor I must be a Canadian!). I have "extra innings" from DISH and get all the baseball I can tolerate. I think the ALE is a wreck! No matter who is on the top at the end,- they will be out in the first round!

Go Yankees!

I think you will see more consistent Yankee pitching in the 2nd half. It will be a very competitive division. If the Yanks can stay healthy they have a good shot at first. Sabathia needs to develop other pitches and locate his pitches better. He leaves too many in zone. Keep his pitches down and he can still be competitive. Yankees look a more solid than they have in many years.
