Dear Mrs. Witless,

Please describe to me in detail how I could acquire the smilies, and how I put them on the page.

Thank you...
Hillbilly

Dear Hillbilly,

You can't. Only us, the Illuminati can.

Mrs. Witless

<IMG src="http://www.sassiessite.f2s.com/images/Smilies/schudlach.gif">Ok... I am joking.

By popular demand I will tell you how to use some of the cool features I use when writing my posts. Nothing secret here, it's all in the F.A.Q. It's only that I had been using this kind of board before.

Bold letters: Enclose the words/letters you want to show in bold with the tags: {b}example{/b}. Substitute the {} for [] when writing your post. It should appear like this example.

Italics: Enclose the words/letters you want to show in italics with the tags: {i}example{/i}. Substitute the {} for [] when writing your post. It should appear like this example.

Underlined: Enclose the words/letters you want to show underlined with the tags: {u}example{/u}. Substitute the {} for [] when writing your post. It should appear like this example.

Supscript: Enclose the words/letters you want to show in supscript with the tags: {sup}example{/sup}. Substitute the {} for [] when writing your post. It should appear like this example.

Subscript: Enclose the words/letters you want to show in subscript with the tags: {sub}example{/sub}. Substitute the {} for [] when writing your post. It should appear like this example.

You can combine the last two to make small letters that show centered in the line. Use the tags like this {sub}{sup}example{/sup}{/sub}. Substitute the {} for []. It should appear like this example.

You can combine many of these. Only remember that to close the tags you must reverse the order in which you opened them.

********************Smilies**********************

Simple, there's a basic list of smilies in the Smilies Page. Check at http://dr1.com/forums/misc.php?s=&action=showsmilies For example to get this one  you write this ;rolleyes; just substitute the ; for :

Now, on to the really cool smilies: There are many websites where you can "get" these animated and humorous smilies. This one is really cool: http://www.sassiessite.f2s.com/smilies.htm To post smilies from that page you have to use html tags. For example to post this smilie <IMG src="http://www.sassiessite.f2s.com/images/Smilies/usehead.gif"> I wrote this
{IMG src="http://www.sassiessite.f2s.com/images/Smilies/usehead.gif"} (using <> instead of {}). Notice that the name of the smilie is "usehead.gif" Very appropriate, huh?. Just substitute the name of the smilie for the one you'd like to use listed in that website.

Hope that now I don't get any more emails with questions about smilies My email is only open for marriage proposals from now on... Naahh, I am kidding. I'd be happy to reply to your emails and you can use this thread to ask your questions. Many other people in the board have figured this out already and will surely give me a hand if I didn't explain it correctly.

Ok class, you're dismissed.

Rob, question?

anilogo.gif

If you do stuff like this, does it impede the board? I make sure to check if the "gifs" are ok for linking, but that's me. Any comment?

Hey Jan,

The reason why it doesn't work in your email is because vB codes are "designed" specifically for vBulletin boards. But the good thing is that now you see it works here. I suggest you use the Preview Reply button at the bottom of the Reply Box when you're writing your post. That way you will see how you did it before actually posting.
