I don't think this affects those of us with residency or on the path to residency and we go to DGM on the Malecon as normal.

But.....

The department certification office is responsible for issuing travel permits authorizing the departure of minors unaccompanied by their biological parents, as well as all the certificates that have to do with immigration status in the Dominican Republic.

Extensions to visas could be issued here?

I really think that AlterEgo needs to make this clear .. In the Malecon centre at present you apply for and receive your non criminal record which then has to be apostilised in Maximo Gomez , unless that has also been changed but for residency applications or renewals the old office further on in el Malecon is still the place to go ..I have heard of nothing different .

I was there last month and the security guard told me that they were moving but explained that was only certifications for minors. Anything related to residency stays in the same building.
