Hi everyone,

I'm a medical student from the England who was thinking of coming to Dominican Republic to do my elective project for 4 weeks at the beginning of next year.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice of good hospitals to apply to and how they think my experience would be in DR? I'm interested in anaesthetics and intensive care but am open to other specialties also. I was wanting to go to either to Santo Domingo or Santiago. And was also wondering if any hospitals were more english speaking than others?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice!

Welcome to DR1.

Are you from England or New England?

Not very many patients will be speaking any English here.
Hopefully someone in the medical field will respond to your questions.

While my daughter was in the hospital in the DR we met an English medical student in her final year doing a several week stint. She has her contact info if you want to send me a message. This medical student was a wonderful help during my daughter's illness.
