Tourism industry mourns Fernando Rainieri

Former minister of Tourism and director of Infratur, Fernando Rainieri Marranzini has passed away this Tuesday, 6 October 2015, victim of a heart attack. He is best known for having directed the initial launching of the development of the north coast in its best years when heading the Infratur department.
He was a successful businessmen on his own right, best known for being the Bell helicopters representative in the Dominican Republic.
He served as president of the World Tourism Organization for the Americas and was a past president of the Dominican-Canadian Chamber of Commerce. He served as honorary consul of Australia and contributed to several foundations, including Save the Children.
He is mourned at the Funeraria Blandino.
He leaves his wife Pilar Soto and sons Giovanny and Fernando.
Fernando Rainieri was the brother of Frank Rainieri, founder of the Punta Cana legacy.

May he rest in peace, he was one of the most important pioneers of Dominican tourism development.

A truly nice man who did a lot to help his country. He'll be missed by everyone. My condolences to his family.
