I was very sorry to hear this - Fernando and his music were much loved by many. He was also a personal friend of Mr C so I'd met him a couple of times.

He was disabled and had some health problems.

Fernando Echavarria dies just before show
Popular singer, musician and composer Fernando Echavarria collapsed just before taking the stage for the show "Dominicano Pal'Mundo at Escenario 360 on Saturday, 10 October 2015. He was due to perform with La Familia Andre at around 11:30pm. He was rushed to the Clinica Abel Gonzalez, but was pronounced dead on arrival. Listin Diario reports that he suffered a heart attack while waiting for Henya & El Laboratorio to finish their set after which he was due to take the stage.
An architect and publicist, Echavarria was best known for his danceable fusion of Afro-Antillean music like samba, cumbia, plena with jazz and rock, son and merengue. His best-loved hits include "Pato robao", "Marcela", "Donde e' que e", "Nande", "Teresa" and "Maria Elena". He was 62 years old and suffered from diabetes.

CPR will not bring someone back from the dead. A massive heart attack will kill you even if it happens in the nearest emergency room. Diabetes and heart disease go hand in glove.

This guy died while getting ready to perform/ sing which was something he was obviously very passionate about and loved to do. What a great way to go.
