Not the best day to move. The entire country will be inebriated, many services closed. Height of the tourist season. If you haven't found a long term by now, chances are you'll be doing a bunch of short term rentals until the tourists who booked months ago return home.

Not impossible to find, but probably won't be located near where you want to be and you willingness to compromise will be key. Good luck and welcome to the DR.

I stayed in this place last month and thought it was a great deal.http://www.bahia-cabarete.com/apartments-for-rent-cabarete/ Not sure on the longterm prices but the manager was very helpful and worth a call to see if he can help or steer you in the right direction. He is gringo english speaker. Tom 829.812.0700
