Today I purchased my Marabete for 2016. Note, the CREDIT UNION in Friusa has closed, you can now get it, near la bomba at the Western Union.. 2,200 pesos... Also note the Size and shape has changed looks like a Revista now in a way... Happy driving..

You can also get one directly across from La Bomba in what I believe is the Credit Union that moved there. It is the last store on your right looking at the mall.

Wait a minute... my husband just paid 1,200RD for the marbete renewal and you were charged 2,200rD. Is this a typo?

And when do get to do the revista thingie?

No revistas this year, and what you pay for the marbete is based on the type of car and age of the car.

I think the cutoff in marbete price is the age of the vehicle being older or newer than 5 years. 1200 >5 years, 2400 <5 years.

Correct. Up to 2010 = 1200 peso's , 2011 and newer = 2200 pesos

you also get it at the bank across the shell station at the Veron Crossing.
and at the bank at Plaza Mayoral near the Plaza Bavaro.

It goes by the year of the car, not the type. Cars and Jeepetas are the same.

La renovaci?n del Marbete es el impuesto anual sobre el derecho de circulaci?n de veh?culos de motor de todo tipo, seg?n lo establece la Ley 225-07.

El proceso de renovaci?n de marbete 2015-2016 abarca desde el jueves 1ro de octubre de 2015 hasta el viernes 8 de enero de 2016.

Ley 225-07 establece en su Art?culo 9 el impuesto anual sobre el derecho de circulaci?n de veh?culos de todo tipo de acuerdo a la siguiente tarifa:

Los veh?culos con m?s de cinco (5) a?os de fabricaci?n pagar?n como derecho a circulaci?n la suma de mil doscientos pesos (RD$1,200.0)
Los veh?culos con cinco (5) a?os o menos de fabricaci?n pagar?n dos mil doscientos pesos (RD$2,200.00)

The marbete does have a code "type" A for 1, B another, etc..... car, 4?4, minivan, camioneta and so on.....
But I guess it doesnt influence the price..... not sure though
